3-Stage LCA Console
The operational framework and methodology for environmental impact tracking, resource metrics, and life-cycle validation of OPUNÉ® engineered biomaterials.
Life Cycle Assessment Stages
Select a stage below to review OPUNÉ's environmental impact metrics, resource utilization, and circularity parameters.
Biomass Valorization & Cultivation
OPUNÉ feedstocks integrate post-harvest agricultural streams (banana pseudostem, corn husk) and low-impact xerophyte cultivation (Opuntia cactus). This dual-pathway approach decouples material generation from intensive arable land-use and heavy irrigation.
Focusing on residual streams eliminates field-burning emissions, while utilizing natural CAM carbon sequestration during the cactus growth phase establishes a regenerative baseline.
Target Engineering Objectives
DATA // MATRIXThe following parameters represent our developmental benchmarks against conventional materials as we progress through formal LCA validation phases.
| Impact Category | Conventional Benchmark | OPUNÉ Target Objective | Primary Driver |
|---|---|---|---|
| Global Warming Potential (GWP) | Animal Leather / Petrochemical Synthetics | Significant mitigation of fossil-carbon emissions. | Utilization of biogenic carbon from rapidly renewable agricultural biomass. |
| Abiotic Depletion (Fossil Fuels) | Polyurethane (PU) / PVC Faux Leathers | Drastic reduction in petrochemical reliance. | Incremental substitution of fossil-derived core matrices with plant-based formulations. |
| Ecotoxicity & Water Impact | Chemically Tanned Animal Hides | Elimination of critical toxic effluents. | Strict avoidance of chromium processing, alongside cleaner solvent pathways. |
